CONTEXT

WeForest is fast growing international non-profit association with headquarters in Belgium and projects in Brazil, Ethiopia, India, Tanzania, and Zambia. Our aim is to demonstrate, through the restoration of entire regions, that well-planned reforestation can be the solution to today’s biggest challenge: climate change. We promote Forest and Landscape Restoration best practices and have created a movement, engaging international brands and their millions of customers to act.

We are urgently looking for an experienced leader to head our Support Services and enable the organisation’s growth while mitigating risks. The position reports to the CEO, and oversees the Finance, HR, legal and IT functions. The team comprises an HR director, a Management controller, an Accountant, and we are considering opening a position of Process & Systems officer, as well as a legal advisor. The role works in close collaboration with all other departments (Global Programmes, New Projects, Partnerships & Communication, Sustainable Science).

JOB PURPOSE

To structure the organisation ensuring financial resilience and enabling operational excellence, through robust and effective Support Services.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy:

• Own and facilitate the strategic planning process for WeForest, including the 5-year strategy plan definition and annual objectives
• Defines and implements the overall Support Services’ strategy
• Provides support to the HR Director to define the HR strategy

Leadership

• Responsible for coaching and empowering his/her team re: their needs and performance.
• As part of the Management team, demonstrate exemplarity in work ethics and WeForest values

Financial & Performance Management

• Responsible for the consolidation, follow up and overall management of key performance indicators
• Accountable for the budget process & financial reporting
• Develop the risk management & internal controls
• Link with the external auditors and perform internal audits when required
• Support Sales with pricing modelling for significant commercial offers

Legal & Governance

• Support the CEO in strengthening the organisation’s governance
• Ensure the legal compliance of WeForest Belgium and all its entities
• Support teams with due diligence checks and contracting processes

Processes & Systems

• Oversees a quality system for continuous improvement of processes
• Ensure the adequacy and coherence of IT systems

• SOLIDAR (www.solidar.org) is looking for an International Cooperation Fellow to support the implementation of the “MAJALAT” (www.majalat.org ) initiative funded by the European Union.

Within the fellowship programme, you will discover the working environment of a NGOs and members’ based network. You will have the possibility to deepen your knowledge of the EU project management rules, to develop your planning and events’ organising skills and to understand the development priorities of the EU for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and the dialogue with civil society from the south.

Duration: 5 months starting in October 2019

Key tasks:
The main tasks of the fellow will be to:

• Provide administrative and logistic support for the implementation of small scale projects in the Neighbourhood South (NS) funded through a small grant facility scheme (e. g. Review of the reporting of small projects implemented by NGOs in the NS, check compliance with the EU requirements, write narrative reports).
• Support for the preparation of the Civil Society Forum in Brussels: a major NS CSOs and EU structured dialogue platform (e. g. Participation in the coordination meetings with partners; write invitation letters, visa applications, prepare concept notes for the thematic sessions of the forum, notes taking).

Conditions:
The fellowship program is in the framework of the “Vocational training convention” registered under Belgium law. The position foresees an allowance of approximately 790 Euro.

Key skills and competences:

• Fluency in English (written and spoken) and good working knowledge of Spanish.  French is an asset;
• Proven ability to write briefing papers, monitoring reports as well as news articles in a clear and accurate form;
• Proven ability explain complex issues in a simple way;
• Experience in research;
• Proven familiarity with EU external and development policies and with the following topics: economic development models, decent work and social protection, freedom of association education, migration, tax justice and fair trade, human development and sustainable development;
• Knowledge of EU decision making process;

SOLIDAR is looking for an International Cooperation Fellow to support the implementation of the “Organising International Solidarity” program funded by the European Union.

Within the fellowship programme, you will have an opportunity to get familiar and analyse the development and impact of EU development and external policies in developing countries. This role will also allow you to discover the working environment of the NGOs and member based network and give you understanding of advocacy strategy on EU level.

The main task of the fellow will be to support the development of the Decent Work Lab, a yearly thematic publication, as well as country-based Decent Work and Social Protection Monitoring reports.

Conditions:

The fellowship program is under form of “La convention d’immersion professionnelle” registered under Belgium law. The position foresees the allowance of approximately 780 Euro.

Key tasks:

During the programme, fellows will be expected to make substantive contributions to:

• Support the development of the Social Protection Lab, a yearly thematic publication;
• Develop 10 country-based decent work and social protection monitoring reports;
• Organize events as well as visibility and advocacy actions (e.g. bilateral meetings with policy makers, lobby tour, etc.) to support the implementation of SOLIDAR “Organising International Solidarity” program;
• Developing newsletters, briefings, etc. about decent work and social protection in Africa, Asia and Latin America;
• Supporting SOLIDAR International team’s day-to-day tasks.

Médecins du Monde est une ONG internationale de développement médical faisant partie d'un réseau international. Nous fournissons une assistance médicale aux groupes vulnérables, en Belgique et dans le reste du monde.
Nous voulons une couverture universelle de santé où chaque personne a accès aux soins, sans obstacles (financiers, culturels, géographiques, etc.).

En Belgique et dans le monde, nos projets se destinent à toutes les personnes qui n'ont pas ou plus d'accès aux soins de santé. En particulier, ils se structurent en cinq axes : les personnes en marge de la société (personnes sans-abri, sans papier, usagères de drogues, travailleuses du sexe, etc.) ; les enfants en situation de vulnérabilité ; les femmes (accompagnées dans leur combat pour l'égalité ou contre les violences sexuelles par exemple) ; les personnes migrantes ou déplacées et les victimes de crises ou de conflits.

Pour mener à bien notre mission, nous nous basons sur trois piliers : 

• Soigner : donner un réel accès aux soins aux populations.
• Accompagner : plus qu'aider, nous voulons changer les choses à long terme.
• Témoigner : nous ne restons pas silencieux. Grâce à notre expérience et notre présence sur le terrain, nous interpellons les pouvoirs (locaux, régionaux et (inter)nationaux) avec des faits, des chiffres et des réalités.

Nos projets suivent une série de valeurs communes à toute notre organisation : Justice sociale, Empowerment, Indépendance, Engagement, Equilibre.

L'ESSENTIEL

En partenariat avec l’asbl Dune (Dépannage d’Urgence de Nuit et Echanges), le projet mobile « MEDIBUS » a démarré en novembre 2013 sur Bruxelles. Avec ce dispositif mobile nous allons à la rencontre d’usagers toxicomanes et des personnes en rue ou qui vivent dans des occupations précaires telles que les squats, gares, entrées de métro, etc.

Son objectif est de réaliser un contact avec ces personnes et d’identifier celles qui semblent les plus vulnérables et exclues des soins pour améliorer leur accès aux soins de santé en les orientant vers un ou plusieurs services adéquats.

Les problématiques rencontrées sont médico-psycho-sociales, avec le plus souvent une plainte principale à l’origine de la consultation, qui cache d’autres problèmes liés aux conditions de vie difficiles : manque d’accès aux équipements sanitaires de base, nourriture irrégulière, exposition au froid et à la pollution, violences dans la rue, situation administrative complexe, souffrance mentale, risques liés aux consommations de produits psychotropes, etc.

Ce projet combine 3 volets :

• un volet de soins curatifs et préventifs (inclus l’accueil/écoute/réorientation vers des autres structures de soins)
• un comptoir d’information et de réduction des risques liés aux usages de produits psychotropes
• accueil inconditionnel afin de répondre aux questions et aux demandes du public

Ce dispositif ne peut évidemment se faire sans l’appui de volontaires. C’est pourquoi nous faisons appel à vous ! Si vous pouvez vous libérer quelques heures par mois de façon régulière pour venir en aide aux personnes en grande précarité, rejoignez notre équipe de bénévoles.

PRINCIPALES TACHES

• Aider à la préparation de la permanence (gobelets, mise en place du café/thé, logistique, etc.)
• Participer au briefing de début de soirée avec l’équipe assurant la permanence, ainsi qu’au débriefing en fin de soirée.
• Accueillir et enregistrer les patients : créer le contact, veiller à ce qu’ils aient une bonne compréhension des différents services du MEDIBUS.
• Créer un climat favorable au bon déroulement des consultations et de l’échange du matériel avec les patients.
• Si nécessaire, orienter le patient en fonction de sa situation et de sa demande.
• En fin de soirée, se joindre au chauffeur pour ramener le bus vers les locaux de MdM.
• Sur base volontaire :
• • Participer au travail de rue sous la forme de maraudes : établir des contacts avec les bénéficiaires en rue, orientations médico-sociales, explication des activités du dispositif mobile, etc.
  • Conduire le bus des locaux de MdM vers les lieux de stationnement, et inversement.
