You have
• Extensive field experience working in child protection, in conflict and post conflict environments.
• Proven track record in sector networking and representation and in securing multi-year donor funding.
• Demonstrated ability to develop programme policy and create high engagement in its
implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor policy application and compliance, including ability to take corrective
action.
• Close awareness of the security situation in the country programmes where we work.
• Experience in responding to security incidents and manage efficiently and with cultural sensitivity
unforeseen high-risk situations.
• Experienced in managing budgets and proven track record in applying financial management
requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate annual planning and strategy development processes.
• Experience of developing new humanitarian and child protection projects in insecure settings.
• Expert level of understanding and analytical skills of, and the application of sector and thematic trends
in funding mechanisms.
• Substantial experience of successful advocacy with institutional donors.
• Extensive experience of remote management and coordinating work remotely.
• Proven leadership and people management skills, including identifying talent, managing performance,
supporting individual development, and creating a high performing team.
• Confidence in dealing with people at all levels and ability to influence senior management, as well as
external partners and agencies.
• French and/or Arabic speaking is highly desirable.
Description
We are a growing organisation, working with children and partner organisations in some challenging environments. We’re focused on child protection, education and livelihoods and our projects range from providing short term psychosocial support to children affected by conflict to supporting the development of sustainable child protection systems. The conflict settings where we work range from acute emergencies of Yemen and Iraq to the protracted humanitarian crises of DRC and Afghanistan.

Our Programmes team in London provides technical, security and programme funding support to the country teams, as well as a focus on daily operations and grant management. The role ensures an effective link between country teams and programme teams in London, with a strong focus on institutional funding and grant management. You will be very experienced in international development with an excellent knowledge of the ways of working of international NGOs from both country programme and head office perspectives. You will be familiar with the challenges of operating in the environments we work in and have a strong track record in securing institutional funding, including through consortia.
