- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience with IT systems for finance planning & reporting (e.g. Board) is a strong asset
- Professional experience in an FP&A position is an asset
- MSF Field experience preferred
- Fluent in English

- Organised, detail-focused, accurate, problem-solving skills
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance or related field with a strong interest in IT and new technologies (or equivalent working experience)
Description
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international humanitarian aid organization that provides assistance in more than 60 countries to populations in distress, to victims of natural or manmade disasters and to victims of armed conflicts, without discrimination and irrespective of origin, religion, creed or political affiliation. To develop this work, the Finance Department is recruiting a: Planning & Control Applications Referent (m/f)
CONTEXT
Within MSF, the Finance Department aims to ensure financial statements give a true and fair view of the financial position of MSF Belgium and ensures an optimal use of financial resources.
Within the Finance Department, the Application Supports Unit (FASU) maintains, develops and administers a different range of applications used by the Finance departments. The Application Support Unit is the centre of expertise for the applications and their data structure.
The Planning and Control Applications Referent guarantees that the budget, forecast and monitoring applications are up to date and respond to the needs of their users. He/she achieves this by doing developments directly or by supporting developments made by other members of the FASU unit, IT department and product suppliers.
She/he supports the users on the tools usage and makes sure that appropriate guidelines are in place and are updated at the same pace as the tool.
The Planning and Control Applications Referent works closely with the Operational Finance Team, the FAC team and the Finance Planning & Risks Unit in order to ensure that all needs are adressed adequately.
JOB PROFILE
- Ensures that the Planning and Control Applications corresponds to the needs of the users and of the department’s internal clients
- Consolidates all requests and validates possible developments (in collaboration with the business owners and internal clients of the applications)
- Develops and supports bespoke excel spreadsheets and customises existing applications and excel spreadsheets
- Liaises with external developers and suppliers, in collaboration with the IT department.
- Evaluates if developments can be done internally or have to be outsourced
- Coordinates and organises the tests to verify the developments respond to the needs.
- Identifies tools that are soon obsolete and plans for their replacement / update.
- Makes sure that on time support is given to the users and their supervisors
- Supports the business owners to make sure that the tools are used properly and that appropriate guidelines are prepared for all tools
- Gives technical support to the L&D on the development of trainings and e-learnings linked with the use of the tools
- Identifies need for production of user guidelines
- Supervises the draft or drafts the needed user guideline (new tool or obsolete guidelines)
- Keeps the different sharing platforms updated with the last versions and guidelines
- Within the scope of his/her position, he/she can be requested to provide support directly in the countries where MSF operates (at least once a year)
- In case of need provides (backup) support on any other applications supported by the FASU
CANDIDATE PROFILE

- Open-ended contract - full time - based in Brussels (Ixelles)
