Personal profile
- Technical education (technician, engineer) in IT and electronics
- Experience in coaching and training of staff
- Excellent written and oral French and English language are required
- Field experience with MSF is an asset
- Relevant work experience with NGO is an asset
- Amateur radio License or Maritime radio certificate is an asset
- Ability to function in stressful environments
- Mobile & flexible

CONDITIONS
- 1 year “MIO contract” – full-time
- Field position : salary according to MSF-OCB Field salary scale - legal leaves + “recuperation” leaves
- Position based in Brussels but mainly carried out (up to 70% of the time) in the field.

Description
CONTEXT
The Raison d’être of the MIO IT/Telecom is because MSF Operations require Telecommunication & IT networks in order to run and coordinate operation in the field.
Voice telecommunication means are part of security plan while IT network are crucial to run MSF activities.
S/he will be providing first line and second line support to the field. S/he will coordinate with the Telecom & IT field support Referents to improve and/or implement trade related tools and techniques. S/he will be proactive to assess and propose solutions in line with her/his domain.
Nature
The MIO IT/Telecom is line managed by the LOG Front-Office Coordinator and under the functional supervision of the Telecom & the IT Field Support Referents who develop and validate the technical aspects related to installations & maintenance of IT/Telecom networks.
Mission
The aim of the MIO IT/Telecom is to implement or improve practices in the field for an effective, efficient functioning and use of IT/Telecom equipment and networks in order to ensure continuity of MSF operations.
S/he contributes with the Referents giving feedback of the functional status of IT/Telecom equipment in the projects.
S/he assists the setup of IT and Telecom in mission deployment and/or running in terms of specialized Human Resources, Technical Workshops and Trainings depending on priorities needs.
JOB PROFILE
- Provide specialized 1st line support in IT/Telecom domain:
- To support the ICT field officer on IT/Telecom equipment installation, maintenance
- To support the ICT field officer on functional evaluation of IT/Telecom setup
- To support the ICT field officer to increase the abilities and capacities in the ICT field
- To improve and/or implement in the field the MSF tools and techniques related to IT/Telecom equipment
- To assess the possibilities and advantages of intersectional IT/Telecom collaborations when pertinent
- Provide specialized 2nd line support IT/Telecom domain:
- To support the ICT field officer on training and technical workshops
- To support the ICT field officer to solve technical problems affecting the functioning of the IT/Telecom equipment with regards to infrastructural concerns, electrical, and more…
- Provide support to Telecom Referent & IT field support referent in tool development, such as:
- Protocols for testing IT/Telecom innovation product
- Reference documents for the good management of equipment
