Description
Search for Common Ground is the largest dedicated peacebuilding NGO in the world, with operations in 30 conflict-affected countries across the globe, and headquarters in the USA and in Belgium. Search Belgium is an international AISBL with around 30 staff based in our Brussels office. Our mission is to transform the way the world deals with conflict, away from adversarial approaches and towards collaborative solutions. In order to achieve this, we apply the “Common Ground Approach” in all our work. As per our 2018-2028 strategy, Search for Common Ground is entering its expansion phase and is looking at increasingly influencing policy-makers in Belgium, Europe, and across the world to make peacebuilding a credible option, based on insights from our experiences in conflict-affected countries.
In this context, Search is implementing several policy and advocacy projects out of our Brussels office, funded by, amongst others, the Belgian development cooperation and the EU, that focus on highlighting the importance of peacebuilding and conflict-sensitivity. Through these projects, we promote some of our key organisational priorities around youth, peace and security; the HDP Triple Nexus; climate change and conflict; natural resource extraction; and conflict and digital peacebuilding. These projects are managed by the Global Programmes Team, in close collaboration with Search’s Policy Team, technical teams, several country teams, and the Institutional Learning Team. The Global Programmes Team is looking for a committed full-time intern who is passionate about gaining practical experience in project management and the peacebuilding field. The intern will make concrete contributions to the day-to-day project and grants management, support implementation, and monitoring and learning under these projects.
