Profil
- Full buy in of SOS Children’s Villages' vision, mission and programmes
- 10 years of experience in a Finance position, with ability to lead and organize teamwork, gaining buy-in and creating enthusiasm
- Master in Economics / Finance (or equivalent)
- Able to establishing a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including auditors from public donors and external auditors.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written in French, Dutch and English.
- EU citizenship or labour permit for Belgium required
Description
SOS Children’s Villages is a Non-Profit Organisation building since 70 years families for children in need, helping them shape their own futures, and actively working on the development of their communities. We do this in 135 countries worldwide – also in Belgium.
We are currently looking for our new Head of Finance & Administration, position reporting directly to the Managing Director of SOS Children’s Villages Belgium, and based in Brussels.
As Head of Finance & Administration, you will be the business partner of the Managing Director and be part of the Management Team of the NGO, will contribute to the definition of the strategic targets and make sure that these strategies and plans are financially sound.
In this position, you will be in charge of:
- Preparing and presenting the annual accounts, managements accounts, budget, forecasts and mid-term plans to the different platforms: Management Team, Board of Directors, Finance Committee, Committee of Prevention and Protection at Work, colleagues working in the head office.
- Quarterly controlling and reporting of fundraising results, project costs, overhead expenses and strategic action plans.
- Supporting the Programme Coordinators on financial aspects of International projects.
- Ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place, following up on compliance matters and risk management.
- Managing the financial and administration team and ensure that all are engaged in the department initiatives.
- The general administration of the association, i.e. supervising the work of the external IT provider, management of insurances, contract management, legacies and making sure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
- Representing SOS Children’s Villages Belgium internally, in our international platform dealing with financial topics, and externally.
