Minimum required qualifications
- Bachelor Degree, preferably in communications, journalism, marketing or similar
- Good knowledge or a specific interest in international relations, development cooperation or peacebuilding

- An eye for creative detail, and the technical skills to translate ideas into compelling visuals
Desired qualificationsPrior (volunteering) experience in communications or a related field is an asset
Basic experience with graphic designSupervision
The intern will be part of the communications team and will support both the communications team and the cross-regional program team, under the supervision of the Manager of Press and Communications and in close collaboration with the Cross-regional Program Manager.
Working conditions
Usual office environment in Brussels. Search Belgium currently has a policy requiring at least 2 days per week presence in the office.
Salary and contract
The internship will fall under the Convention d’Immersion Professionnelle (CIP) or Beroepsinlevingsstage, a framework for internships in Belgium for recent graduates. Hence the candidate must have completed their studies and have the legal ability to live and work in Belgium (this includes citizens of the European Economic Area plus Switzerland). The internship will be compensated with 1,077.10 EUR/month (full time).
We are expecting this internship to be full-time and for a duration of 6 months, exceptions to this can be discussed during the recruitment process.

Description
We seek a motivated intern to assist its Brussels-based team in all communications related activities, including support to one of our projects that aims to empower locally rooted peacebuilders in fragile and conflict-affected contexts.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the to the creation of communication materials, including newsletters, social media posts, and web content
- Research and collect materials for documentation, briefings and presentations
- Support translation and proofreading between French and English
- Assist in preparation of events, logistical and procurement processes
- Research and monitor European news and media outlet
- Help prepare for, attend, and take notes at programme meetings, strategic reflection and planning sessions
- Gather data from various sources (activities, conversations with colleagues, reports, websites, etc.) and draft success stories based on the information collected
- Assist in updating relevant monitoring tools
- Perform general administrative tasks as needed
