Description
Function:
You are part of a team of 3, managing the communication of Fairtrade Belgium. Your specific responsibility is to federate a community of consumers and help them spread the word about Fairtrade. To do this, you use mostly digital tools (Social media, newsletters, website…) and provide thought provoking and challenging content to the community all year round. You report to the Head of Communication.
More specifically, you:
- Build a community of Fairtrade consumer ambassadors and manage the relationship through:
- Creation of relevant, thought provoking, creative content
- Dissemination and promotion of this content
- Develop and activate digital mechanisms to support communications to consumers and community
- CRM (mainly e-mail marketing)
- Website
- Social media (incl. community management)
- To keep it simple: you make sure the word is spread widely across Belgium (&beyond!)
- Promote Fairtrade products to consumers and industry during key ‘commercial moments’ of the year (Sint, Easter, Valentine’s day…), through integration into digital strategy.
- Create and update generic materials and presentations promoting Fairtrade (even that can be fun, believe us)
- Support the Fairtrade@campus campaign (you were a student not so long ago, so you know how it’s done)
- Support the Fairtrade@work campaign (campaign engaging companies to promote Fairtrade towards their employees)
- As we all want to make a real difference in the world, you monitor and report on the performance of all the above, suggest improvement when needed.
- Take part in the development of the communications strategy of Fairtrade Belgium, driving more specifically the digital part of this strategy.
Profile:
- A strong communicator with affinity for digital and social media, you were practically born with a smartphone in your hands.
- A strong societal engagement, a passion for making the world a fairer place, bite by bite, byte by byte (pun intended).
- A communications or marketing degree (or equivalent through experience)
- At least 3 years of experience in marketing/communications with a strong digital and social media component
- Bilingual (Dutch and French, spoken and written), proficient in English.
- A dynamic and happy team player
- A ‘can do’, hands on approach with a drive for results.
- An ability to work independently and make own decisions when needed.
- A good knowledge of MS Office tools, Google analytics, Facebook analytics...
- Some basic knowledge of Photoshop/Indesign/illustrator and of web monitoring tools (Falcon, …) is a plus…having worked for Steve Jobs too but maybe we push it too far.
